About Us
PROBUS Clubs provide the opportunity for retired or semi-retired men and women to meet and mingle, enjoy interesting guest speakers and activities and join or lead group activities.
Our clubs encourage healthy minds and bodies and socializing with other retirees in the community. PROBUS Clubs are not service organizations. We do not engage in fundraising, and are non-sectarian. We function solely for the benefit and interest of our members.
The Port Stanley & Area PROBUS Club was initiated in 2020 (yes, right before COVID), starting with 24 members, and has grown to over 100 members. We were able to meet electronically monthly throughout the lockdown until in-person meetings were again allowed.
Since then, the club has steadily grown, and includes members from Port Stanley, as well as St Thomas, Union, Talbotville and other parts of Elgin County. With that growth, we have been able to add a number of interest groups and special events to complement our regular full club monthly meeting / guest speaker presentation.

Membership
For a low yearly fee (and one-time initiation charge), members:
• Receive a monthly newsletter
• Attend the monthly meetings
• Can initiate or join special interest groups
• Attend special events
• Receive a nametag and PROBUS pin
Attend your first meeting as our guest – grab a coffee or tea and socialize with our members before the guest speaker presentation.
Volunteer
All members are encouraged to participate in the running of our club.
There is a large variety of opportunities available – from Meeting Greeter to Events Planner.
There is something for everyone.
We are happy to have new voices to improve and grow our club!
